Minister Tsubouchi attending Conference
The OMA is pleased to announce that the Honourable David Tsubouchi, Minister of Culture, will be attending the 30th Anniversary Celebration Banquet during the Conference. The event takes place Friday, October 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Novotel Mississauga. Members are encouraged to attend to hear from the Minister and show support for the heritage sector. New speaker joins Municipal Government Primer workshop
Greg Baeker, Managing Director of Applied Cultural Principle (ACP) will be joining the list of speakers in the workshop, “How Municipal Government Works in Ontario: A Primer for Arts, Heritage and Cultural Organizations.” For more workshop details, click here.
The Memory Project
Learn how this innovative program broadens our appreciation of the richness and complexity of the Canadian story. The Memory Project keeps history alive by inviting veterans to share their personal stories to young people in the classroom. Museums and Reminiscence Kits
Reminiscence Kits are an ideal community outreach and extension service for museums of social history to initiate. Thematic objects were used to trigger tactile senses and recollections in older-care patients with memory challenges. This presentation will: outline the different stages of this community-based projects, offer some feedback from users; and will allow this audience to experience the kits during this interactive session.
