Cultural Tourism Marketing Fund Available

July 17, 2003

The Ministry of Culture has announced details of the Cultural Tourism Marketing Fund (CTMF). The Fund is one of a group of special programs introduced by Premier Ernie Eves as part of a $128 million tourism recovery package to respond to the unique challenges that Ontario's tourism and cultural organizations are facing due to SARS and other issues.

This Fund provides enhanced marketing assistance to Ontario's cultural attractions, events and festivals, to support you in your endeavours to create innovative marketing opportunities and to reassure patrons that your organization is open for business and ready to welcome visitors. The CTMF may serve as an enhancement to existing tourism recovery programs, or, in special cases, it may be the sole source of funding.

Applications are being accepted on a continual take-up basis until all funds have been committed. The Ministry is encouraging applicants to submit proposals as soon as possible since availability of funds is not guaranteed. These funds are only available in 2003/2004.

Copies of the program application form and the guidelines are available on the Ministry's website at www.culture.gov.on.ca. Details on the other special tourism recovery programs can be found at www.tourismpartners.com.

Completed applications should be forwarded to:
