OMA Conference 2008: Call for Proposals

DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS NOW EXTENDED
UNTIL APRIL 3RD, 2008
The Ontario Museum Association is planning its Annual Conference
in Ottawa, Ontario, on November 5 - 7, 2008.
This conference brings together museum professionals from across
Ontario and beyond. The conference aims towards improving professionalism
within the museum community by providing a unique and comfortable
environment for individuals and institutions with diverse experiences
to meet and learn from each other. Conference sessions typically
provide relevant discussions and interesting and helpful dialogue
and networking opportunities.
This year, the Ontario Museum Association will explore the transformation
of an idea from the formative stages into great results.
We invite proposals for sessions. Proposals can be based on number
of topics, including, but not limited to:
- History, Science, or Art Educational Programming and Evaluation
- The Role of the Museum in the Community
- Conservation and / or Restoration Issues/Practices
- New Approaches to Exhibit Design
- The Visitor and Visitor Services
- Education
- Collections Management
- Administration and the Internet
- Distance Learning
- Financial Sustainability
Individuals or organizations who would like to present at the Conference
are invited to submit proposals to the address below by April
3, 2008
PLEASE NOTE: The OMA and its members appreciate the contribution
presenters make in sharing their professional knowledge and expertise
to strengthen the museum sector; however, all presenters are expected
to register for the conference. The OMA cannot pay for travel expenses
or stipends for session speakers.
