Guidelines and criteria for the new strategic investment fund are expected in January 2010.

The OMA requested information about the fund announced by Minister Moore in June. A note from the Department of Canadian Heritage, dated October 13, 2009 states:

Here is information on the Strategic Initiatives component of the Canada Cultural Investment Fund. Strategic Initiatives replaces the Capacity Building component of CAHSP.

• The Canada Cultural Investment Fund (formerly the Canadian Arts and Heritage Sustainability Program) has been renewed for five years, as announced by Minister Moore on June 26. Click here for details of this announcement.

• The Strategic Initiatives component, through partnerships and collective efforts, will enable arts and heritage organizations as well as communities to access resources to implement better business practices, diversify revenue sources, increase their competitiveness, and advance cultural development.

• As soon as details on this new component are available, they will be posted on the Department's website.
