A presentation and discussion that will provide an awareness of legal issues that may arise in the course of archival activities, as well as the ethical obligations of acquisition/accessioning, appraisal and access/reference services. The general structure of the Canadian legal system will also be addressed, with an understanding of copyright law and privacy legislation as it applies to archival documents.
