Heritage Canada's magazine this month features a story about Parks Canada's National Historic Sites of Canada Cost-Sharing Program, which is now running with a budget of $20 million over five years, $8 million of which comes from the federal government's Economic Action Plan. The program targets the national historic sites not owned or administered by the federal government, and contributes up to 50 per cent of eligible costs to a maximum of $1 million. Over 200 applications have been made so far, and 40 projects from across the country have been approved for funding totalling approximately $9 million.
