Bill 65, the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 promises to modernize legislation governing not-for-profit organizations and seems likely to make it easier for not-for-profit corporations to successfully operate and do business in today's economy. The bill has had a first and second reading and is the culmination of extensive work and consultations that have taken place between the government and nonprofit organizations across Ontario since 2008.
